A Fond Farewell

Grandpa was laid to rest with lots of tears and laughter, a bourbon toast, and a beautiful Catholic ceremony, and an appropriate military burial.

Lyrics to The Voyage :
I am a sailor, you're my first mate
We signed on together, we coupled our fate
We hauled up our anchor, determined not to fail
For the hearts treasure, together we set sail

With no maps to guide us we steered our own course
We rode out the storms when the winds were gale force
We sat out the doldrums in patience, and hope
Working together, we learned how to cope

Life is an ocean, love is a boat
In troubled waters, it keeps us afloat
When we started the voyage, there was just me and you
Now gathered round us, we have our own crew

Together we're in this relationship
We built it with care, to last the whole trip
Our true destination's not marked on any charts
We're navigating for the shores of the heart

Life is an ocean and love is a boat
In troubled waters, it keeps us afloat
When we started the voyage, there was just me and you
Now gathered round us, we have our own crew

Good Bye Captain

Rest in peace, Captain Edmund Philip Gabriel. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. You were loved and cherished.

Please excuse the view...we are in the middle of potty training and this was the only face shot I got of Peter Pan. Elena dropped Joe and Madie off while she took Liam to the Dr. to have his stitches removed (have you heard about that..Liam in the ER on Christmas Eve getting stitches in his head. Poor Pat & Liam missed Christmas Eve, but Liam was very proud to show off his stitches). ANYWAY. Joe walked in the door and announced to Tim that when he took off his jacket he would be Peter Pan and sure enough...He was.

Something is wrong with this picture. Madie is playing with Charlie's trains and Charlie is wearing....a headband? or something?

Through The Eyes Of Lucy

We got Lucy a digital camera for Christmas. She has been using my point and shoot so much I thought it was time for her to get her own so we got her the intro to photography camera..Little Tikes. She loves it. These are the pictures she took on Christmas, although I think Emma might have taken a few of them too.
